The Children’s Rights Studies Online Summer School is for prospective and current M.A. and P.h.D. students at University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and the partner universities. It will be offered as blended learning with digital presentations and live seminars – these can be streamed to make them also available to students who are not able to attend the Summer School in person.
The Summer School is an introduction to the modules developed throughout the past year: Understanding children’s rights, Participatory Research with children and young people, Key themes in children’s rights studies . Date:
August 25th - September 3rd, 2021
University of Applied Sciences, Potsdam, Germany OR online, depending on COVID-19 regulations .
-Understand the „red thread: el hilo rojo“, the epistemology of the modules.
-Know and be aware of the ethical challenges for research with, for and about children and young people and understand the limitations research has.
-Get an insight into pressing issues for children’s rights as introduction to the module key themes in children’s rights studies.
-Have a good understanding of MS Teams.
The summer school is open to students from all partner universities. If you are interested in the summer school and are not a student at a partner university, contact us for possibilities to participate. Max. number of students: 40
The summer school is funded through the project. There are each 2 scholarships for students from partner universities
Get permission from your course director/supervisor to attend the summer school. In the event that there are more students than capacity, the following criteria will apply for selection:
-Integration in children’s rights work settings
